January is the best time of year for fresh starts!

Hello! This is our first blog ever and we are super excited to share more information and experiences with all of you that will help you feel better and live better. We know firsthand that managing life (family, community, job, you, etc…) is a balancing act however it is possible!

As you define your goals for 2021, the first thing to do is write them down, then make a plan and work on it every single day! Easier said than done 😉

A good way to set your goals is to set SMART goals, I am sure some of you have heard or used this approach at work. Well, you can also use it to set realistic goals for your life.

This is how it works:

Specific – State exactly what your goals are and be specific with numbers, dates, feelings, and state of mind

Measurable – Determine how you will measure your progress. How much, how often, how you will know when the goal is reached

Attainable – Do not overwhelm yourself. Pick something that is challenging and realistic. Try to avoid setting goals that depend on things outside of your control

Relevant – Determine whether this goal is aligned with your values. How it will benefit you and incorporate that into your goal.

Timely – Goals can last forever so they need a deadline. Determine when your goal should be reached.

Here are some of my goals for 2021:

  • Include a 5-10min meditation on my daily morning routine. Increase it by 2min each month until it reaches 30 minutes by the end of December. This practice will help me to feel calm, clarity and focus.
  • Do a monthly office space & closet declutter the first weekend of every month. Tis will allow me to increase my productivity and creativity
  • Cook a new plant-based recipe every week and share it on social media. I will learn and improve my plant-based cooking skills and healthy eating habits
  • Start a monthly blog and publish it by the 5th of each month on the www.BBalanced.life website. This will support the expansion of services to our busy professionals audience looking for a balanced way to life

A good way to keep your motivation while working on your goals is to have a vision board. See yourself with the goals already achieved, feel it !

It is important to do a monthly or quarterly goal review to realize the progress you are making to reach those goals. The review allows you to make the necessary adjustments or add new goals! And remember to celebrate and reward yourself when you make small strides towards your goals to motivate you. Believe in yourself!
